Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan or pot.
Cover the eggs with water, making sure they are completely submerged by about an inch.
Place the pot on the stove over medium-high heat.
Bring the water to a boil.
Once the water reaches a rolling boil, turn off the heat and cover the pot with a lid.
Let the eggs sit in the hot water for about 9-12 minutes, depending on how well-done you prefer your yolks. 9 minutes will give you a slightly runny yolk, while 12 minutes will give you a fully set yolk.
After the eggs have cooked for your desired amount of time, use a slotted spoon to carefully transfer them to a bowl of ice water.
Allow the eggs to cool in the ice water for at least 5 minutes to stop the cooking process and make them easier to peel.
After the eggs have cooled, tap each egg gently on the countertop to crack the shell, then peel the shell off under running water.
Once the shells are removed, your hard-boiled eggs are ready to eat or use in your favorite recipe. Enjoy!
